Parker Out For The Foreseeable Future

Great news for Patty Mills, wonder if he'll secure a starting spot or at least a 6/7th man role. Parker will most likely come back just in time for the playoffs you'd think.

You'd imagine that Pops wouldn't be happy with Parker, given his insistence on playing Inge the ASG.

Indeed good news for the likes of Corey Joseph, Nando De Colo and Patty.

Even with Parker in mills has got his 20 minute spark of the bench locked in. Can't see that role changing even with him out. Suits him and the team perfectly!

He still hasn't proven himself in the playoffs. Pop is known to play guys big minutes in the season and then drop them out of the rotation entirely in the post season. Not saying mills wont play in the big games, but im just sayin'...

Mills has proven himself this season. I see him as a 6th or 7th man as he is an instant spark off the bench. He is doing his free agency value no harm either.

Anon = Cory Joseph

Common knowledge that Mills is a quality player in the best league in the world. I don't think that defines sucking.

That's the Cheese

You can't have a Patty thread without a hater. Good luck to him.

Playing really well on the offensive end today, both in terms of running the offense as a whole and getting his own shot.

So terrible on the other end though.

Anyone claiming Patty is still a defensive liability this season hasn't been watching the games.. Mills has been all over people defensively this season, partly due to his better conditioning.

I watch most Spurs games...he is shocking in containing dribble penetration but Pop does a great job of hiding him on that end.

Him being "all over" guys defensively is the problem: he plays guys way too close and gets burned routinely.

He has become such a great offensive player that it is mattering less and less, especially in the Spurs system which is great at hiding minus defenders, but the next step in his career will be learning how to guard his position. He'll get there. He has shown this year that he has been putting in work to diversify his game on the offensive end instead of just being a heat check guy. He can get to the rim. He has a floater. He can no run an offense and set guys up.
