If this guys says Wellington will play a range of games across a number of venues why isn't the same being said of an AIS team which could share Canberra, Geelong, Albury etc. A much larger population with a stronger basketball history. So the team would play 7/8 games at each venue, that's very sustainable IMO.

That seems to indicate that if a team does come in, it's unlikely to be the Saints, which seems an odd decision to make.

The CoE has no affiliation with any other locating than Canberra. Sponsors need generally to be locals as well. Hell the CoE can't even find the time to play a full season in the SEAbl including finals let alone an NBL season with twice as many games as they play now.

They'll be in and they will be a highly valued team in the competition.

However it wouldn't surprise me if they chose South East Melbourne, Canberra, Brisbane and Tasmania first.

How big should we expect the rivalry between Auckland and Wellington to be?

Good luck to them!
