Demetriou to step down from AFL at season's end

Andrew Demetriou's reign as AFL supremo will end after the 2014 season.

Mike Fitzpatrick, Chairman of the AFL Commission, announced Demetriou's resignation at a press conference which began at 10am at AFL House.

What's the relevance? Are you thinking he should take a massive pay cut and run the NBL?

Off to run the Australian Open has been the very poorly kept word in Melbourne. Sick of the drugs and dramas in the AFL and sees Tennis as an easy gig.

Bad news for him if that's the case, tennis is rife with drugs and administrators have comfortably ignored it through lax testing.

The NBL could learn a lot from the AFL.

I understood he was off to run some International tennis body - one of the two I thought.

Very funny about getting him to run basketball. Even if the sport could afford him he would not take it because it would be too much of a challenge.
