Junior Summer Finals Div 1 and 2 (12 to 18)

Just a break down i know it is only the summer season

Boys in Grand Final Girls in Grand Final
North 2 f/ville 8
Sturt 8 Sturt 4
Norwood 3 East 3
South 1 Centrals 1
Centrals 2

Again Sturt dominate boys F/Ville dominate girls but F/Vile boys need work on.
Very little change except Centrals have 3 teams in and Eastern are starting to gain with 3 teams in the girls side.
Teams West,Woodville hampered by location, small pool to pick players from.
South trying to improve but working between two powerhouses of junior basketball doesn't help.
If centrals have improved i see no reason why the tigers can not again move in the right direction of improvement.
Norwood and North ok in boys but the girls sides needs some work.

Sturt may be dominant in the boys but centrals are a chance to win 3 of the 5 divisions pending under 10's results.

West and woodville have plenty of space and population - 10 years ago any western teams would have been 70% woodies and 30% west players. Eastern may pip forestville for girls state this year

Why not count under 10's after all they're next years under 12's

Plus isn't it good to have a good group for a young age

U10s have basically no correlation with how they will go in U12s. Clubs are not taking their U10s seriously, preferring to let the kids run around, have fun and learn basic rules. Most players/parents are playing multiple sports, not prioritising basketball and many won't even start until U12s. In addition now clubs are running domestic comps in quite a few cases their focus in this age group is on building up domestic comps. Infact there probably won't even be an U10 district comp in the near future. The U10s will have very different positions etc. when they reach u12s.

If I were Centrals I'd be focussing on getting boys/girls teams in U12 Div 1. It's the first time in quite a few years Centrals haven't been able to get teams in this division. This age group, the love they develop for the game at this age, the mateship they develop, the development they get sets up your program for future years and to not have Div 1 in both sexes in this age group over summer looks pretty incompetent and you'd have to question where this will leave the club in the coming couple of years.

It's sad that Centrals seem to basking in the glory of their current success here on this forum so much rather than working out this will be sustained through future years, and doing the work it takes to maintain this success. The best predictor of future success is what you are doing now to grow and develop the program and having competitive U12 Div 1 boys and girls teams would be a good start!!!

A boys program has been built for you out there, don't drop the ball now! Now stop talking here and DO SOMETHING.

150 that's not at all fair or accurate. Clubs are working very hard to build a strong base at Under 10 level for the future of their clubs.

I assume you're writing off Under 10s because for the first time in a very long time Sturt haven't made finals?
