Colleges pay an introduction fee
There are many of these scouting services popping up through out Australia
It is essentially an introduction service to US colleges more than a scouting service. They conduct "trials" and "interviews" for select sports, then ask you to front $5000-$5500 so they can present your child to colleges throughout America. Will take essentially anyone willing to pay. You do all the filming, then they will produce videos, web pages etc, and forward to all their contacts at the colleges. Will also help with the legalities required for entrance to US college. More a service to get into the lower colleges (JuCo, community college and Div 2 or lower). If you are Div 1 College quality, unlikely to need this.

So for $5k are there any guarantees about getting your child into college or is it part of the gamble you take?
No guarantees, but they say they have a high strike rate. Nothing to say the college that makes an offer is acceptable to the person and taken. Also, the majority appears to be partial scholarships for the first year, which means you may have to fork out another $5k to 20k tuition/living fees in the hope of impressing and getting further funding in the subsequent years.

I'm guessing they've made a bit of money off rich parents who don't have the guts to say their child actually sucks.
film your child on an iphone put it up on youtube, spend time researching schools and build a data base of assist coaches and send them emails. COST = $ZERO !!!!
