Kings sign local boy Angus Brandt

The MightyMite Sydney Kings are proud to announce that the club has signed Australian big man Angus Brandt to a three year deal. This represents a significant coup for the organisation given Brandt's exceptional talent and potential. The Sydney-born 24 year old, who stands 208cm (6’10") and weighs 112kg (248lb), is coming off an excellent college career in the United States for Oregon State University in the powerful Pacific 12 conference, where he averaged 7.3 points and 3.0 rebounds over 125 appearances.

Great news... Have been hoping for this all last season, he showed some good signs against a much bigger Chinese line up in the mess that was the SinoAus series, had a couple of really good quarters and then Andre benched him, so it will be great to see how he can go in the NBL...

A great pick up for the Kings and the NBL!

A genuine talent who is a very good shooter with range to beyond the arc.

Check out my interview with him immediately prior to the 2013/14 NCAA season with Oregon State.

That's three local boys now on the Kings, two that will no doubt get significant minutes, which is great to see... Hopefully it will help with numbers and getting signed early can help in a membership drive (which I hope they will be really pushing hard this off-season)
