Janae Howard (South) leads the scorers and averages 9,6 rpg. She could be the one that catches the umpires eyes, so expect her to be up there too.

You would expect Lewis to be right up there, Novosel and Hill would get votes from good, solid performances all year.

A bit off the pace, but Perkas and Reynolds (both Woodville) might actually be smokies in the mix of players.

Lewis will poll well but I get the feeling that Hooley (Mavs) might be the one the beat for the simple fact that she might be the one Mav getting all the Mavs votes.

My book (and I am please for others to put up their own odds)

3:1 Hooley
3:1 Lewis
4:1 Hill
5:1 Novosel
5:1 Howard
10:1 Reynolds
15:1 Foley; Mahoney

In the men, I think agree with Starling, Rios, Dawson, Miller, Moore, Klaosen.

Interesting that Norwood are top and no real names forward.

My Book:

3:1 Rios
3:1 Starling
5:1 Moore
8:1 Miller (missed games will be his undoing)
10:1 Lycett
15:1 Klaoson
20:1 Truslove - they never let Centres win!

The umpires won't give first preference votes to losing sides

Anon, they tend not too, but they usually give out 2's and 1's to them. Winning teams with plenty of good players tend to share the points around, so while the team points generally follows the table, more players in top teams "rob" the other players, whereas it is not out of the ordinary for a player in a lower ranked team to get 80% of the votes. A low ranked team make get a total of 20 votes, with 16 going to one player, and 4 on one point. A top team might get 60 points, but have 3 players on 13 points each, 3 players on 5 points, and 3 on 2 points

And they also hand out votes to name players first as they spend the game looking after them

I think Huba Nagy won 3 woollies in a losing team.

Hannah Richards may be one of those that picks up some 1/2 point votes.
