Dirk Takes Less!

Nowitzki had taken less $$$ than first agreed to signing with the mavs for 3 years at just $25m. Parsons nearly earns that in a year for Dallas. Apparently turned down max contract from lakers and rockets.

Other signings

Mike miller to cavs for 2 years $5.5m
Adonis Haslam stays with heat 2 years $5.6m
Wade stays with heat 2 years $34m
Boozer amnestied by bulls
Booker to jazz 2 years $10m
Humphries to wiz 3 years $13m
Caron Butler to pistons 2 years $9m
Augustine to pistons 2 years $6m
Roberts stays with hornets 2 years $5.5m
Charmers stays withr heat 2 years $8m+
Anderson stays with heat deal TBA
Bonnner stays with spurs 1 year $1.4m

Out of all that nothing from lakers. I'm hoping they sign Stephenson for two years and get ed davis on the cheap!

Lakers don't have the pulling power that they used to.

Unless your a top 5 talent the middle of the road talents don't want to play for a non contender in a state with such terrible tax systems.

What would stop Mark Cuban having a handshake deal with Dirk that he'll give him a $10+million payout after he's retired? Would that breach salary cap in anyway, or is it just ethically wrong?

Every now and then you hear of sports people taking less than they are worth to stay with their franchise or team and possibly become a one team franchise player.

It is noble and shows sportsmanship, however he is not crying poor is he?

I like it, nonetheless, it is better and more refreshing to hear than reading about the ones that demand max salaries most of the time...

He had earned over $200m in contracts but considering the over paying and demanding of max contracts it's still surprising.

Rubio has said that he wants a max deal too!

Dirk is an absolute champion and a true gentleman. I implore anyone who hasn't seen his segment on 'Punked' to watch it.
