They don't have much talent to work with.

Same imports who haven't been a winning combination since the start.

Avg supporting cast although if they get the imports right and add 1 or 2 role players to the mix they could be ok.

Biggest budget in SCM by double the next closest team.
Consistent failures.
Powerhouse SEABLE club now disappointing.

The the same problem()s) have existed there since they left SEABL.

What was once a proud mighty club has been progressively led out the back door.

Copeland is really worth the investment.....

Having the same imports for the last few seasons without making the playoffs.

A lot of $$$ thrown around at Hume without any results.

Hume need a new direction.

No issue with Copes but imports need a refresh.

2 new imports, couple of solid role players then develop some young guy around them and you'll be competitive and hopefully build towards mid table finish.

Hopefully building a solid culture aong the way and building up the kids to have a crack at finals.

Sorry Tiger Watch - Copeland has not proven to be a coach. He looks like he is taking the money and offering little in regards to planning and strategic information. The players are barely running an offence and they are all cutting corners in defence. To the point that in under 12's if you saw your players reaching from behind when they could have been in front you would drag them.

JB looks like the only real contributor.

@ Anon.... which way do the go then in terms of program.

Total clear out of imports and coach and bring in a 3/5 year plan to get back to the top of the league.

Any thoughts on what they'll do as history says they won't change to much.

Guys who would you bring in to the club if you are looking to clean out ? What coach

Tiger - I would stop investing in expensive coaches and try and find an ambitious and driven one.

JB - still very effective, but without a smart guard they all suffer. By the way of; lack of execution, turnovers and feeds to JB at the right times.

I would hunt a current college senior shooting guard that can carry the ball also. That way you can spread the floor with his shooting and steady the ship as a point.

With money saved by not over subscribing to guys like Maybank and Copeland, you should be able to field at least 5 more players and have a roster down to say 7.

Any names that won't cost an arm and a leg but has a history of developing players as well as managing older players ?

It takes some time to buil the culture too

It's hard for them to develop players when there best youth players end up leaving. They are left with players who aren't up to it. Making it hard for them to develop.

Sorry it hard because the culture is wrong. It also does not take that long to change a culture. A fish rots from the head down. Strong management fixes everything. Their catchment is strong, but there plans must be weak.

They have no plan and the two families that run the place do it for their own selfish reasons. Copeland and Landells are just window dressing and are happy to simply take the money. Until there are changes made and the two idiots running the place are removed totally that club will go NOWHERE.

If they are cleaning out Any thoughts on coaches?

First one to mind is Estcourt even thou he hasn't had success last few years could at least help with culture

TW, you can throw all the coaches you like at the team, it won't make any difference until some significant things higher up the tree change.

Most people consider the job a Poison Challis.

Escourt is the Ross Lyon of SC (without the wins and success I mean) - he puts too many demands on his players including their time and he burns players and teams out. He is the best pre-season coach in the league but his teams always suck in the second half of seasons as a result.

Estcourts results haven't been great at DVD with a solid roster but worse options out there for Hume.

Any assistants or ex coaches?

If players are rebelling to Estcourts demands for professionalism id suggest that's more a reflection on the players than his ability.

Maybe he needs to move up a level or move to a club that has a more professional program.

Estcourt, like most other better, more professional coaches would find the environment too restrictive and difficult to work with.

Id say he would quickly become frustrated.

Sheerbroke: If there was no USA touring team this pre-season, they would be down with Hawthorn. They picked up to guys on their doorstep late, makes the coach (nice guy mind you) look ridiculously inflated.
