U'u to Breakers?

Thats word on the street. He will take Corlettos spot and play backup to Action Jackson and Webster.

I am personally suprised Perth are letting this talent go given his huge upside. Does this give nz the leagues deepest bench?

Considering only TeRangi & Duane Bailey are signed and TeRangi's spot is dependant on how nice the Judge who is sentencing him for Assault with Intent feels like being, no.
If the snag Rob Loe & a half decent import then maybe.

U'u seemed really average in the limited time i saw him play last season. I'd prefer Braswell to come back or even consider Bartlett over him.

Not so sure about upside he got limited opportunities with Perth but may get a better chance with NZ

With NZ planning on getting Kirk Penney back and how good Corey Webster has got, I hope he can dribble & pass or he might be 1 & done at the Breakers

He didn't get much time in Perth to prove himself

While I actually thought U'U played his role reasonably well throughout last season, his fanfare has essentially only risen because he hit 2/2 threes in game 3 of the grand final series.

Of the televised games I saw of him during the regular season I recall more air balled than made jumpshots. If this were representative of his point production then I guess he would have "huge upside".

Ballinger Gruber Hill Import is not too shabby either.

Perth HAD to let him go as he wa the replacement for Muo.

Now Muo is back.

U'u is a serviceable back up with some good hops.

His decision making needs to improve.

Hoping its not true.

No disrespect to U'u but is he really much better than someone like Bloxham (who was pretty average).

As mentioned in the other thread, don't know what Vickerman was thinking releasinf Corletto. Algood if he had someone to go straight away who was an upgrade.

U'u Leaving Perth for greater opportunities is totally understandable but the Breakers?

I would of been looking for a place where minutes may be a little more available.

Still if U'u or is your 10....you must have a reasonably strong line up.

Yeah liking Hawks bench over Perth and NZ.

I don't mind U'u and his name became a bit of a favorite amongst some sections of Perth supporters.

I feel he wasn't using his height advantage over smaller point guards to his advantage as much as you'd want if he signed for your yeah.

He needs serious work on his shot and his penetration was very little if at all.

Hopefully Drake gets the confidence boost he needs or he won't get court time.

Hard to see him getting more court time behind Cedric than he did behind Damo!

LOL mystro

But he had a ankle injury that kept him out of the Tall Blacks trials! Sounds like the dreams definition of injury prone to me

Drake certainly has a pure stroke. Won't miss many open triples.

Outside of his outside game... well...
