Lightning need to sack their coach

Moule needs to go, players aren't playing for him and structure very one dimensional

Should be plenty of coaches who'd love to have a crack. Loads of talent on that Lightning roster. The only way is up, surely.

Too many redundant pieces. And be defenders.oils to be too many players looking for their own shot and not enough passing. How Hodges who isnshooting 55% for the season isn't getting more shots is amazing.

Anyone who knows who Moule is knows he can coach. Look at his history at Bendigo womens and Sturt without their star import to within 2 points in the ABL final, when written off early in the season. Perhaps the players need to work harder and the mix is wrong. Perhaps players need to get their butts in to gear and work at it.

It shows incompetence when your handing the reigns to your players to run their own training session after only half a dozen rounds as mentioned today on the call.

Faris seems to be a bit of a flop, shame as being referred to from Kelsey Griffin.

Maybe some players in the team need to be able to follow an instruction. Seen he told them to go into zone and then had to call another timeout to tell tham again as they hadn't done it. sounds like dumb players to me.

Agree, many of the playing group do not seem to be team players or have good court vision and IQ. Some a one diminutional (love the shooting - hate the defence) weaknesses in their game being showed up and the wrong dynamics. Not much a coach can do about it except keep plugging away at them but if that is the team he has been given at this level they will not achieve what he could with a better team.

While Marino is there, i don't think you can ever have a "playing group". that group revolves around the one player - she owns that team

On paper the team looks really quite competitive so I am not sure what is going on. People on here were saying Langford was a potential opal but she is hardly playing?? Faris is WNBA player Foley proven player and of course Hodges who is a star. Put in two 196 cm players in Bunton and Mijovic you would think better results than what is happening.

i think if chris lucas comes up short with the fire this year with the squad he currently has he MAY be under a little pressure to keep his job?.he is a good coach who knows the league inside out and knows what junior talent is available. go for him go for andy simmons, david ingham. go local lightning it is right in your back yard.

Langford is Opals material but nursing and injury at the moment and had her sitters wedding to attend last week. If some of the other players played with her intensity it may well be a different season for the team, but some are not putting in the effort necessary at this level.

Lucas obviously would be a good coach, but I will bite on the other suggestions.

Simmons has been good when he can out spend everyone at ABA level. But he wouldn't be in that position and the only time he has coached girl (at junior level) they under-performed at classics finishing outside the top 8, and played zone all year so his players developed so little they lost the final by 20.

Ingham has been let go from Brisbane, Perth and Sydney for various reasons as well as other international coaching positions. Who can tell if he really can coach. From what is being heard out of the NITP program, not many people have much positive to say about his coaching.

wnbl season is very tight and possibly the best talent ever. No team will get a 90% winning result - most top 4 teams will go 70% if that. Rather get the bad results out the way with early - Lightning have excellent players and coaching panel - far from finished.

I don't think we'll see a Bendigo 22-2 season for a LONG time..

The players Adelaide has and their ability, yes they should be higher, but at the same time the league is incredibly even, nobody is guaranteed a win.

Most likely a chemistry issue and just needing more time together. Could be a team where if they were all together for a second season they would be much better, who knows.

Sacking Moule is most certainly NOT the right way to go about it.

Poor display from Adelaide tonight, Bendigo let go a bit in the third, should have won by 30+.

Don't know whats up with Adelaide, just can't seem to gel together or what.

Faris has been a big flop so far.

Interesting that both the Lightning and Sixers are struggling.

Does anyone know if they still share the same admin ?

Do they share the same services such as conditioning coaches, gym, nutritional advice and so on ?

Both are looking lethargic and not running well. Just curious..

I hate the way the coach has them playing so well for the first half / three quarters of games, and then changes his plan and tells them to choke up and lose the plot down the stretch. He needs to stop doing that. Looking from the outside it's pretty obvious.
Maybe a specialist 4th quarter coach needs to be employed. One who can just step in and replace Moule, and tell the players "hey just do what you did in the first half and what we talked about in the pre game tactical session"
Hell even I could do that.

They were down by 22 points in the first quarter last night.

Was Bunton hurt last night? She played 2.47 minutes.

On paper they have the 3rd best post player rotation (behind Tville and Bendigo). Although everyone except Hodges hasn't played to expectations. They just get zero from their guards. It appears teams just leave Foley and Marino open.
