Chargers sign Harris-Tunks

The Hobart Chargers have signed Shane Harris-Tunks. He was a beast at junior level but very average when he returned from college to join the NBL. Probably better than what they had last year.

Lets hope Tunks isn't a bust. A beast at junior level and now @6'11 and no NBL gig is a worry. The new Sam Harris?

Some guys never come back from college the same...other thrive...Hopefully he can find his confidence and play some solid ball for Hobart.

He needs to shine in SEABL to have any chance of getting to the NBL.

Harris-Tunks ended up in a difficult situation in college, especially after his knee surgery.

Hope he can rediscover the fire that had him rated so highly as a junior.

He played against some absolute animals in the Big 12. Hobart will be OK this season.

Do we know who the imports might be? Will they be Australians as previously mooted?

He was overrated as a junior too... just a hulking big with limited mobility but most people, including far too many coaches who should know better, are dazzled by height and don't see anything else.

They need to stand out imports or will be sacking the HC again after last seasons miserable efforts

Shouldn't be hard to get two good imports as its a buyers market.Like taking a mark 25m out. Most kick a goal, some kick a point and Hobart kicked it out on the full last year....

Lol. Good analogy there Happy Days. Having said that, you don't give yourself the best chance at kicking a goal if the player taking the mark has a broken leg.

I think if you check back the Chargers were sitting third when the board decided to sack the first import. Downward spiral after that.

The 1st and 2nd imports should have been sacked even before any seabl game was played. Maybe the 1st import sacked scored 0 points and fouled out just before he was sacked. Chargers were a great club and like so many they are failing. Anyone remember Knox? Now Kilsyth, maybe MtG too? Remember the once great Bandits, cough. cough.!!! Worm has turned full circle.

The only way is up for the Chargers this year. Ben Rush will have them firing.

Another coach in the SEABL - unlike Bendigo/Mount Gambier, etc... - who will not have the luxury of a superstar roster and will have to try and do more with less.

Some of these rosters are loaded with talented players, Frankston, Sandringham, Hobart and Canberra maybe not so much.

Add Knox, MtG, Kilstyh Specs. Bandits will fail yet again. Very few competitive teams already. Hows the Rat going?
