Amare Stoudemire to Mavs?

Sources with knowledge of his thinking told ESPN on Monday that Stoudemire is leaning toward signing with the Dallas Mavericks. Another source told ESPNDallas.com that the Los Angeles Clippers and Phoenix Suns also have expressed interest.
Saw the Spurs mentioned as well in one rumour.

Mavs need him the most ,well Clippers until Griffin is back.
Sounds like he wants to go to the Mavs and it is almost a done deal.

Which is interesting since teams couldn't talk to him until he was bought out.
Probably went through his agent to avoid tampering fines.

If the Mavs don't get Amare and J O'Neal has said he isn't coming back they could be in some trouble.
Their backup bigs are very bad, if Charlie V is your best big off the bench you have serious issues.

End of his career is not far away, Mavs or Clips could use him but no team interested in long or medium term success should touch him. Can't jump anywhere near what he used to!

Yeah backup PFC is his ceiling now.
He is avg 12pt and 7rebs in 24mins, which is pretty good for a backup.

The Mavs need rim protection off the bench more than anything, is Amare really the guy for that? They just seem to jump on all the name players and hope for the best.
