Corey Webster to play off-season in Serbia

Breakers guard Corey Webster will head to Serbia to play the remainder of the European season with the newly crowned champion club's blessing.

Club chief executive Richard Clarke confirmed Webster had landed a short-term deal in Serbia to dovetail his successful title-winning campaign with the Breakers in the Australian NBL.

It's the sort of arrangement, Clarke added, that the Breakers are going to have to get used to as they look to stay relevant in the marketplace under the constraints of the financial model they work under.
Webster's deal in Serbia was for just over two months, and Clarke said he hoped it was a model that worked for the ambitious Tall Blacks sharpshooter.

"He can go there, experience it, and come back and play our season, and ideally go do it again. You can have a pretty decent career based on that."

The big benefit of finishing the season early. Hopefully this becomes more common place instead of losing players OS.
