Maker a Boomer

Right now Thon Maker has committed to being a Boomer. The new generation committing. Fantastic.

Keep dreaming.

I have nothing against Thon and hope that he will play for Australia, but he will probably end up playing for Canada.

Thon will play for who he wants to. And he has no reason to say he will play for Australia if that isn't what he wants to do. As of now, that is his intention. So I think they should be inviting him to the next camp and locking up his rights by making him 12th man in the fiba series.

Great news to hear this!

Agreed with GWB.

I hope Australia gives him a spot at the next tournament and secures him for the future.

In a world of competitive sport where a lot of intriguing teams are able to recruit a player, countries like Aus just have to step up.

Of course there has to be mutual interest and a good attitude towards representing Australia (which clearly Thon Maker has), I'm just stating this as I don't buy into some people's arguement that "if X wants to play for Australia, X can wait his turn and get selected in his prime", because the fact is by his prime, he'll already be playing international ball elsewhere.....

I know it sounds cynical but ... Could he be playing us off against Canada to see which country gives him a gig first?

What has happened to Keanu Pinder, haven't heard his name much in a couple of years.

Will he be a Wildcats development player or is a a much better player than that?
