Vocal minority may complain loudly but ticket sales will tell the real story.

Increased attendance last year so lets so if that keeps trending up.

People might of been happy to pay big bucks off the back of a James Ennis season but I don't think they will after a DeAndre Daniels season.
Unless they score a big name signing I expect membership numbers to drop.

Yeah, people said that last year too, and the year before that, and the year before that....

Haha they still haven't learnt at Wildcats HQ.

Of course the numbers will be down I'm surprised no one above has mentioned the boom is over.

Many people are out of a job, they were the ones on big $ who inflated everything now they can't even find work. Yet the Wildcats are continuing to ramp prices up. Mind boggling. Greedy and no idea of current economic climate. or just stupid. either one of the two

"Perth Wildcats managing director Nick Marvin has conceded the club has put its ability to attract new fans "at risk" by raising membership prices up to 31 per cent."

https://au.news.yahoo.com/thewest/wa/a/27173793/wildcats-take-risk-on-fee-rise/

"the club prided itself on making the 14 home games of the season a cheap night out."

On what planet is a Wildcats game a cheap night out for a family?!

Let's take the Marvin family as example of how much a night at a Wildcats game would cost. You've got mum, dad and what, six kids? Let's say they sit in the silver section. Two adult memberships are $698 and six kids $1674. That's if their existing members, if not, then it's $1118 for ma and pa Marvin and $2094 for the kids.

So already, the cost of tickets is $2372 or $3212.

That's without paying for parking (a cost of between $10-$15 per game), any food or drink (which is crazily priced at the Arena) or buying on any of the overpriced merchandise.

So when you add around $140-$200 for parking per season, around $50 per game for drinks or snacks and some merchandise for the kids (a kids singlet is regularly priced at $90!), you are looking at a cost of around $270 per game at the renewing member price and $330 per game at the new member price.

You can do a heck of lot of things around Perth for a lot less money!

NIck is a dic*. Mining boom over WA broke and still gouging the formerly rich punters from the mining boom. Try and sell that special house that you paid too much for when you had a wad of cash for back then right now.
NO wonder they want to change the GST divvie, because WA is effectively broke.

If they sell their special house, they can afford to buy memberships again. Smart move by Nick.

just because the boom is "over" and WA is getting less in iron ore royalties and from the GST carve up, it doesn't mean the cost of doing business has suddenly plummeted. Rent and wages are still high and will be for some time - it's not like they'll go down anyway, so the Cats need to budget for that plus all other expenses. They don't look at the paper and say "shit, the price of ore dropped. We'd better adjust ticket prices accordingly."

They may even trim some of their overheads and let go of some of their front office staff, which will please some people here. Unfortunately that may result in a drop off in service that members get so they'll weigh up that decisions carefully.

They have 20 front office staff!

Does an NBL team really need two full time graphic designers and a dedicated video guy (who isn't cutting game tape up, he's doing the nice to have videos for fans). You could find one person to do both the graphics and videos and save on the other two salaries.

Where does it say they are full time? They might work a couple of evenings/game nights/weekends while at Uni.

Does a NBL club need Two? Who knows? Why does it bother you? Should we encourage them to step back their social media/digital content because other clubs don't do what they do?

I suppose they could follow the highly successful Townsville model of getting the DJ/technical scout/shoelace untier to be doing more front office stuff.

If you'll notice, the post above mine said "They may even trim some of their overheads and let go of some of their front office staff".

I was pointing out some of those staff/overheads that I thought could be trimmed. No need to be so sensitive, petal.

No need to get outraged by the number of front office staff they have either.
