The ladder in the boys atm:
Southern - 1
Centrals - 2
South - 2
Forestville - 3
Will probably end up being:
Centrals
Forestville
Southern
South
Centrals and Southern have some country players that made our country side. Your metro team seems to roughly represent the spread of clubs on the ladder.

Didn't Eastern beat Centrals? I'm sure they will be a part of the top 4. How many Country kids are in that team?

Unbelievable.
It's hardly the first time nor will it be the last.
Team selection comes down to what type of position needs to be filled just as much as it does ability.
It also comes down to coaches seeing something different in a particular player, its all relative.
I'm not sure what BSA have to do with it at all. If anything its an issue at club level. Perhaps there is some "politics" or could just be that the team doesn't need that position filled.
At the end of the day we're talking about 14-15 year olds so i don't think its going to cause many a loss of sleep.
We should just congratulate those selected and hope that the girls can once again bring home the gold and maybe the boys can snatch a medal.

I am happy to see clubs left out of the listing of names - these players are selected to represent our state and not their club - keeps the focus on the goal not on the pedigree.
BSA got that right.

So clubs who have developed these players week in week out some for up to 5 years deserve no respect or recognition?
Every other state team has announced club all other states do. Obviously bsa are just scared about the backlash of their girls team if they did list each player's club.

It's not like its a big surprise with the girls.
Sturt and the Eagles have been the top sides for a few years now along with Eastern who no doubt are represented in the SAC team. Surprised more West girls didn't make the team as they are a top 4 side.
It's good to see a mix of clubs make up the boys team. Shows that there is a good spread of players over the top 4-5 clubs.

Ok. here is a question. I'm hearing the boys team this year will be very ordinary. However, it is the best mix of clubs represented in a long time.
Any theories into the correlation between getting a mix of clubs represented and not being very good???

^ A couple of superstars on a couple of teams can both make the competition look extremely lopsided and give a State team greater chance of success. The absence of those superstars tends to create greater balance in the competition, and decrease the chances of success at Nationals.
There are a lot of possible explanations, but that seems to be one that fits this group fairly well.

#154 - yes if it stops dragging everyone into a negative slanging match.
Nobody says the clubs are disrespected for their efforts

Lol royal baby. So you saying that the peak sporting body didn't post the clubs the kids are from, like every other state body, because they are worried what some randoms say on this forum?
Interesting.

This has to be closed down due to too many people getting the post wrong.
Just think all of you gutless people hiding behind a computer, you are talking about young girls that are 14 and 15 , and your attacks are not what they need.
I suggest if you think this is wrong( selections) pick up the phone and ring BSA and ask for Dave and get him to go over the selection criteria.
The kids, all of them, have trained for 3 months, endured Sat/Sun training on top of their normal commitments and then the coaching panel and Dave would have selected a final 10.

As a former President of a club, a current coach and as a parent, you all should take 5 and think about how hurtful and disgusting your posts have been
Stop, ring BSA and then shut up......

This discussion has been locked and a lot of posts referencing U18 players removed. There are reasonable discussions to be had around selections, but not when they implicate younger players - and that is what will happen when the discussion occurs at this time.
