Quite agree Cat!

You will always have clubs stronger and weaker than the average, but having clubs too many "standard deviations" away from the average is not good, and that average needs to be as high as it can be.

just an idea

If by the right person you mean someone who can make the following happen then i'm all for it.

I know its probably not possible but maybe its time for Woodville and the Magic to bury the hatchet and merge back together.

Magic have some strong teams/players in div 2 and 3 that could easily allow Woodville to then enter Div 1 teams in ALL age groups.

It's not a great look for our top junior comp to not have Woodville represented in Div 1 U12, U16, U18 girls and YL women and U18 boys or any of the 5 divisions of YL men.

This is made even worse if you take the time to look at the div 2 ladders to see several Magic teams up near the top. These players could simply fill a spot in a Woodville Div 1 team and would more than likely be competitive.

ask current Woodville board member and current PL player why that didn't happen years ago. like many in bball they put their own agendas first and look where the club is now! also with the ex president saying that the dark green of current senior uniforms are the original uniforms of the warriors. Believe that would have been red shorts, and boston Celtics green tops.

very difficult to get 2 teams to make concessions for a merge...

West/Magic merge merely failed because West weren't prepared to make the majority of concessions.

As Woodville and Magic stand at the moment perhaps Magic is in the greater position of strength and Woodville need to concede more for the deal to be done...

Do Woodville have the funds to pay this person?

in regards to West it was possible name change incorporating Magic name, new logo etc.

All deal-breakers to die-hard Bearcat supporters.

Both Magic AND Woodville will need some pride-swallowing for the deal to be brokered.

Woodville Magic - new bright uniforms and a paint job at St Clair plus a new roof. Knockout the stage a bit and make a score bench for end court. Retile the loos... bring in a plumbing, tiling and painting sponsor. Job done.

Who should they target? Maybe go interstate for someone?

Roof tiles are being replaced in the very near future. Finally

"Someone from interstate?" Haha.

Not exactly the type of job, nor the pay rate, that would entice an interstater of any profile whatsoever.

With the divisions that occurred when Torrens valley joined with Woodville it would seem doomed from the start especially with the reasons for the formation of the magic.
And will we be revisiting all of this in 5 years.

I can recall early 2000s woodville had 2 x u10 and 3 girls teams in 12, 14, 16 and 18s. Was u20s for women then. Some good players and people involved in those days. Hope those days return.

Anon#520 has just written up 50% of the new manag's KPI's to achieve in his/her first 12 months at the helm. Love it!
