See Madgen signed with Phoenix. Great news for her and her Melbourne Boomers team. Do you think Joyce saw that. Mmmmmmm hope so

While there has been no formal announcement, Penny Taylor will not be playing in the WNBA this season.
The fast pace and style that the Opals played in Turkey for 2 weeks under Joyce is the main reason Madgen made the wnba. She should probably send him 25% of her salary.
530846, this is Tess Madgen not Lavey ! nothing is owed to Joyce in this case
Agreed. Clueless comment. Madgen's success is in spite of Joyce not because of him. Thankfully for her the WNBA knows a good guard when it sees one.
I wonder why there was no rush to sign Lavey or Burton to the WNBA??!?!?

Actually disagree it was the opals style at the worlds that has seen the spot light back on aussie female talent. So indirectly you could say it was the case... I mean looking at how many girls made wnba team after the champs is impressive.
Mitchell - 7th season
Phillips - 8th season
O'Hea - 5th season
Bishop - 2nd season
Tolo - been on wnba the radar for a while, as has played in the elite euroleague comp and done well, also played well in Turkey
Madgen - I don't think she has been on an Opals tour of any significance
Allen - played well on the USA tour and generated interest in from a number of teams
Franics - injury replacement in Turkey, and played really well

My point exactly, Mitchell back in, tolo, Francis, Allen first gig from exposure, the opals team style and the showing of new talent has has put the focus back on the girls which is great.

531022 is absolutely clueless. Nothing to do with the World's!
These girls have been producing results everywhere they have been playing. They have now decided to move across to the WNBA from Europe or Australia, instead of being selected because they played well at the World's. Joyce is a goose!
Rebecca Allen is out for the season with knee surgery.
Tough break after such a great start.
