NBL Blitz in Townsville in September

"We are thrilled to award the tournament to Townsville. It will be fantastic promotion for their club," - Executive Director Larry Kestelman
Really like this decision as an attempt to pump up the NBL in Townsville.

"This pre-season tournament will help with the revitalisation of the Crocodiles in the Townsville region," - Chairman Andrew Gisinger

"The main fixtures will be held at one of Queensland's leading venues, the Townsville Entertainment and Convention Centre, while all players and staff will stay at the world-class Jupiters Hotel and Casino, seeing standards improving across the board and setting up a brilliant launching pad for the season."

Nice!

Be nice if they streamed it again like the last couple of years. Especially with the depth of talent around the league this season.

All Crocs need now is a team, with only 4 signed I'm starting to get impatient! Hopefully we have the odd happy surprise coming.

Great way to launch being back at the swamp though

I agree about the streaming... I think the effort to do this has been awesome the past few seasons and big ups to the team involved... Hopefully the NBL sees the benefit of not just providing this, but growing it even more...

Hopefully better quality streaming than last year though.

I hope Townsville turns up for this event.

I don't think I had nearly as many issues with the pre-season streaming as I did the proper nbl.tv service :)

MAybe they can get a loan from the never ending pool it seems Illawara have to sign all those players. Thought they were in trouble and now they are loaded...Is there a behind the scenes 'lets keep Crocs to make up numbers this season and dump them next for the Brissy team.. I would be concerned Crocs long term.

Wasn't Matt McQuade, Brad Rosen and the Kings crew that did the Blitz stream last season?

The Hawks always had the money. They just had too much debt and they wanted it gone. Enter VA, clear the debts that they owe the league, give the league no option but to except Kestelman's offer to take control and perfect, we've all got what we wanted!
