Illawarra Hawks vs California livestream

Hawks V Cal live steamed at 6.00pm AEST tonight. Hawks probably at or close to full strength and Cal apparently have 2 top 10 Draft prospects Jaylen Brown and Ivan Rabb

Hawks up 78-69 at the end of the 3rd. Look vulnerable to pressure D whenever Lisch and Martin not on court together.

AJ impressive.25 & 8.

Jaylen Brown looks to be a quality player after early foul trouble. .

AJ must have had more than 30 FTA. Hawks ran some nice sets to get him the ball in good areas.

Ogilvy with 35 points and 11 rebounds (9/13 FG and 17/25 FT). Lisch with 21 and Forman 19.

Felt sorry for the California side....not used to the ref-ing here. seemed like half the Hawks points were free throws. and their 2 best players fouled out. No wonder the Hawks won. Didn't seem fair to the
visiting team.

Ref-ing should be lax for these teams fresh off the plane. Must have felt very biased refing from their point of view. Word will get around and these US teams will not want to come here. It's not as if this is a final, it's just an exhibition game.

Since the hawks are shite at responding to anyone that isn't blwoing smoke up their butts, I found the livestats from the Cal Bears tweet, for those interested...

A bit disappointing that the Hawks didn't bury this team after the first quarter they had. They were lucky to win - Cal's free throw shooting was terrible and the refs were clearly favoring the home team.

But good signs for the Hawks. Lisch is looking great and the inside outside play with him and AJ is going to cause problems for the opposition. And Penney still to come

During the game there was nothing, Anonymous... the article with links to the livestream etc had nothing, they didn't respond to requests for it... Great that they have it after the game has been played, but if people wanted to follow it during the game, no joy...

Should ideally link to box and live stream 2-3 times during the game. Saves people having to hunt for it. Easier you make it for people, the better.

Will Illawarra import another big?

Only caught the 2nd Q as the video was stuttering for me at times and annoying to watch, but Hawks played a lot of 4 and 5-out type offense, which is what you'd expect. Going to be interesting to see how they perform against teams with multiple bigs, like Perth.

The hawks have multiple bigs, AngusH, oh wait, Davidson, getting mixed up in trouble more than once, surprisingly up there on a fast break, but lazy enough to get his stuff blocked... Good point...

Considering Davo who has been their number 1 centre option for many seasons when uninjured is now only the backup and expected to play around 15 minutes max behind AJ I think they will be fine.

I think they're actually fairly balanced. I would've said they could use a workhorse backup forward, but Ogilvy was pretty mobile and aggressive against Cal, and Davidson is handy. That core has overcome rebounding issues in previous seasons to punch above their weight.
