JR Smith back with Cavs, what now for Delly?

So with JR. Smith now returning to the Cavs, does this have any impact on Delly for the next NBA season?

Delly has already signed a qualifying offer with the Cavs, so it doesn't impact his contract situation.

Do you mean: will the Smith signing affect his minutes? Obviously.

Would've thought the Mo Williams signing would've impacted more as he will go from their back up PG to 3rd string PG now.

As others have said, Delly is really a 10-15 min NBA player. He should get roughly those minutes.

There is no doubt that he is an NBA finals hero. But, it was obvious after games 2 & 3 that he was stuffed after the Warriors made defensive adjustments, and Steph Curry worked him out. Delly always plays well above his capabilities, so probs like last season, he'll be ready to play when his number is called & like season, that'll be when one of the studs either gets injured or in Smith's case, goes ice cold.

He's the third point guard on the team and that wont change. He will be ready when his number is called; that is the main thing.

Will be interesting to see if he spends a bit of time off the ball at sg next to Kyrie, was'nt he played more as a spot up shooter more during the regular season prior to Kyrie injury?

"Finals hero how?"

Wow you didn't watch game 2 and 3 did you? The 2 wins were off the back of Delly stepping up when in need. Even Jeff Van Gundy was repeatedly saying that Delly was 'the most unlikeliest of heroes' for those games.

Anyone who has question over Dellys performance need to just download and watch those games, unreal. Loved watching his D on Teague, Rose and Curry.

Corey Brewer scored 51 points in a game this year didn't he

Guess that makes him a star. Only need a couple of decent games to be called one apparently

How can you call someone a finals hero when they didn't even win the finals?

You are delusional if you think Delly was the hero of the finals or even those games. They wouldn't even been close to the Warriors if it wasn't for Lebron.

In game 2 was it Delly's 30% shooting or 1 assist or 6 turnovers that made him a hero? Lebron only had 39 points 16 rebounds and 11 assists but no you're right Delly was the hero. My bad.

He did have a bigger impact in game 3 that's for sure. His 20 points 5 rebounds and 4 assists in a great line. Once again though probably not as impressive as the 40 points 12 rebounds 8 assists that Lebron had. But no you're right Delly was the hero.

Ok you've sold me he was the hero. To back it up let's look at the playoffs averages

Delly 7 points 2 rebounds 2 assists (to's about same)
Lebron 36 points 13 rebounds 9 assists
Curry 26 points 5 rebounds 6 assists

Yep my bad clearly he was the hero.

What about Dellavedova? He's nothing more than a fluke. Sure his fearlessness, energy and heart was on full display during the finals but that is it. He has zero offensive game. His defense is decent because he is relentless but he can't play systemized defense.

He'll be useful for a couple of minutes to tire opposing star point guards out

If he can do that on the regular he'll get the pay day he wants
