Perth Wildcats sign Corban Wroe

According to the Cats, he played at the University of Hartford and an ex-AIS graduate.

What's the scouting report on this guy?

Wildcats don't have a good track record with guys from Connecticut.

Some info on Corban Wroe:

Wroe was recognised for his outstanding defensive capabilities by being named to the America East All-Defensive Team for the 2nd straight year.

He's useless. I wonder if his mother will follow him across the country.

Corban has signed as a development player, per the Cats website.

Matt Nielson is a part of his management team. I'm not sure that this isn't a conflict of interest as Dev players would be good to get local guys. He's from Townsville, yet the Crocs didn't want him as a DP?

Interesting, is Nielsen also a part of Greenwood's management team? I understand they were very close and I note Greenwood tweeted that Wroe is his best mate. Just concerned that Nielsen might be some type of mole

He's not really from Townsville. He dropped them like a hot potato though once the Perth offer came through though.

The crocs didn't want him as he was not the 'right fit' I was told. Unsure what he offers the Wildcats that a local guard wouldn't, but good luck to him.

I like his game. Has alot of Brad Robbins about him and not just his looks. Fits in with the Cats style of play nicely.

Could've had more time if they played 48 mins.. ;)

Would be interesting to see what those games looked like. Would be plenty of ebbs and flows!

General NBA insiders revolted against going to 40 or 44 mins because it takes away bench players times, and also like they said, if they were 40 min games, Lebron would play all 40.

Just no time for development players to get meaningful minutes in 40 min NBL games. A shame.

I think teams use their benches as much now as in the 48 minute era, but that could be because the intensity has gone up and there would be even more opportunities in a 48 minute game. Not sure?

Makes you wonder what difference the extra 8 mins would make to some of these guys at the end of the bench I suppose.

Considering he was sign as a DP, I've been pretty impressed with Wroe. Seems to be getting better each game, as you would expect from a new arrival.

I imagine that part of the attraction of Perth was the solid chance he's be straight into the lineup until Damo recovers.
