Didn't Brown just get a suspension recently, seems a weird choice of uni.

Poor choice!!!

School will be a shambles with the ongoing issues and maybe no tourney action for a few years

Yes, not question about Larry Brown's coaching ability but committing to a school with a postseason ban seems very strange. They're likely to have a lot of kids transferring out, and it's quite possible Brown will be fired. Anyone know more about the decision?

The following NCAA link outline the SMU sanctions for both basketball and golf:

Perhaps he is thinking he will start on a thin PG roster?

The post-season ban is only for 2015. The sanctions aren't in place once Tom gets there, so he'll be fine

Post season is nice, but it's not all about post season.

IMO I don't think there are any guarantees for post season, closest you get to it are if you're at Duke, North Carolina, Gonzaga.

#7374 is correct. Post season ban is only for 2015/16.
