Childress injured hand, suspected broken

AndTheFoul:

Looks like a broken hand for Childress.. If so could mean Thornton's time is done as well #hardball

Having scans. Might be a sprain.

Thornton has to go for a 2/3 regardless imo. Sydney have four small guards plus Prewster right now.

What a wasted draft pick, never liked him in any of the C's preseason games.

Broken hand might have him out for a month or two. I think that is the end of Thornton

Broken hand or hyperextension of the fingers?

Damn shame if true. We may have lost tonight, but he's such a great player to watch in this league. Not only his scoring, but some great passes/blocks/rebounds, not to mention all the off-court stuff he's done for both the Kings and this league.

Sydney Kings star Josh Childress has broken his right hand in his comeback game for the club in a cruel blow, which might see him sidelined for months.

Childress, who starred with 23 points despite the Kings' 11-point loss to the Adelaide 36ers on Friday evening, was a broken man after the game, revealing he had hurt himself yet again and will be out of action again after missing the opening four games of the season.

There was noticeable swelling on Childress' right hand and he was having difficulty shaking hands as a result. The Sydney Kings team doctor told Childress he believed the hand was broken when the former NBA star complained during the game.

Put Chill on waivers and sign one of his NBA mates. Ben Gordon to the Kings this time? Then do what you have to do with Thornton. I'd keep him and take the chains off him and let him score how he likes.

That is unfortunate. He's probably my favourite non-Perth player, and a great ambassador for his team and the league. Hope he recovers quickly.

Best player in the league as shown tonight. Childress had a hand in all of the things which did work for Sydney tonight, and he is so amazingly versatile.

I have heard people say he should be cut for being injury prone, I think only a fool would cut him. If he has to spend 2 months out and they bring in a fill in for that time, so be it.

Short of being out for the whole season, you do not cut the best player in the competition.

How bad are the Kings. Yet another Childress injury.
Gr8 guy undoubtedly. Injury waivers of TTFN, see you next season. Over him.

Always a risk when you are out of training due to leg injuries. You tend to get bored and flog off too much then the hand injuries start.

We can talk about Childress great comeback performance last night and his possible broken hand. He will not lead the kings to the finals on his own.

The real question are..

1) Is it time for King mngt to start looking for a new
coach?
2) Will Thornton be sacked ASAP before its too late for
the kings to bid for the playoffs?
3) Will Cotter step down because he didn't have a say
in player recruiting process and is fed up with mngt?
4) Will Tim Hudson step down as Ops Mgr for his role in
not allowing the coach to select the team?
5) Who is the leader on the team?
6) Is the team heading back to the Violet Crumble days?
7) Where was the PASSION for 3 1/2 qtrs v 36ers?
8) Whats happen to Tom Garlepp?
9) When is Steve Markovic going to fireup?
10) Will their be an announcement by mngt to give
us kings fans a since things will turn around and
the will start winning games?

#WeAreKings.. are getting very impatient and expect
better or #WeWillNotBeInTheFinals!!

Kinda ironic that Sydney signing Childress last season has helped everyone EXCEPT them!

He's certainly boosted the league, helped with the increase in talent and promotion but without being on the court consistently Sydney haven't found any success.

It is sad though, he's magic to watch, unless he's shooting free throws. That action.
