Tai Webster hasn't improved at college

What is with this guy?? It seems he hasn't improved in 3 years at Nebraska. Is work ethic the issue?

Lots of players don't get better in college. It isn't for everyone and situation/coaching are very important

His coach made a massive stuff up IMO.

He was one of the best junior scorers in the world. He was going off to FIBA Qualifying series and scoring 18 points against Greece as an 18 year old.

Then Coach Miles insisted on turning him into a PG (God only knows why). His focus had to turn to becoming a PG and he was played in the PG position.

Nebraska was just a bad fit and the coaching didn't get the most out of him. I usually hate using the coaching excuse as a cop-out but when you saw what he could do scoring-wise against some formidable teams and compare that to his college play, you can't help but blame the coach.

Work ethic certainly not an issue. The Webster's are extremely hard working athletes.

My tip is that he will be back at the Breakers next season, which I would love to see. Replace him with McDonald.

He's a scoring combo guard and they have been playing him as a PG, hasn't helped him develop.
He'll hopefully come back to the Breakers and flourish like his brother has.

Yes, exactly. C.Webster didn't play D1 (but played very good in NAIA) and yet look at where is now.

Hilarious that Jack McVeigh is already showing more signs at Nebraska after just two games

Why would playing PG be bad for his development ?
I see it as a massive positive - having better PG skills and combining with already natural scoring ability will create a more complete player at pro level

Not if he doesn't develop in that role. They would have been better playing him at SG with some time at PG, while working hard on his PG skills at training.

As it is they're getting very little contribution from a guy who is very capable.

Tai comes into the Tall Blacks and flourishes because they let him and Corey play to their strengths, he goes back to Nebraska and goes back into his shell.

Tai will be one of the better guards in the NBL after a couple of seasons with the Breakers.

College coaches do have their jobs on the line every season, almost every game for some. Some players need to be given a chance and a license to just go and play, but if the coach doesn't se it that way he will possibly hold that player's development back somewhat. The coach may see him as more of a role player, but that will not be for ever. No matter what, he will learn from the experience and I think he will have a good career once he gets the right mix of team and coach.

Because Kiwis were talking Webster up as the next big thing and now an Aussie comes in and after two games has already had a more impressive college career than Webster.

More impressive career? Dont think so, look at websters first games 14 pts, 13 pts ect, was averaging 11 ppg through his first 5 but went down hill after
