Thanks for not listening to anyones suggestions and ruining the long weekends for almost all players for another year.

Cant believe how backward this league is sometimes.

What's the story with Perth's venue? Was Belmont unavailable last year, so they they went with Curtin as a one-off, or were there plans to move that didn't work out?

Think its expensive to hold games there, was a good venue though

Some at Perth thought that by moving to Curtin they would increase attendance dramatically.

They forgot to calculate the lost revenue from the Bar as well as how much extra the Curtin venue was. I heard Curtin wanted even more money for 2016.

Seems Cockburn got a lovely long weekend playing Basketball, sure beats a holiday or time off with Family and friends.

Giants:
Easter long weekend - road trip to Perth
Anzac Day long weekend - road trip to Perth
WA Day long weekend - road trip to Gero

Pretty sure they're not complaining about it.

Toughen up Perth teams. This is a semi pro league. You play when you play. If you want your weekends off then don't play SBL.

Other state-level sports leagues (WAFL, WANL etc) don't have byes on long weekends.

This news was literally just released, so how could you hear them complain yet?

Im sure if you asked the players theyd outline their dismay. It may be a semi pro league but the big V and SEABL both manage to give those weekends off, with the slightest restructuring. Also the WAFL get paid substantially more on avergage because there is a minimum wage. All we are asking is that they spend an extra day and factor in that 90% of us are unpaid/paidverylittle and have plenty on outside of the game.

Weren't they running a bar at Curtin?

Haven't been to Belmont in 10-15 years...do they have seats now?

The only revenue the Redbacks were getting was from Door takings. Curtin took everything else.

Any news or rumours?
Everyone is playing for 2nd place in 2016. I don't see anyone beating the Wolves.
Any player movements?
