HOT TAKES INCOMING!!!!!!

at the very least, you'll have someone to blame for not reaching the finals next year :)

If Beal naturalises, we'd be looking to make an offer to Randle.

Randle in. Naturalised Beal coming off the bench.
Keep Prather.
Bring back Ennis with the 3rd import spot.

It's not completely ideal until someone else naturalises so we can get Dunigan back as well.
That would truly Gleeson-proof our team.

How can Beal possibly naturalise

LOL, why would you want the Wildcats to be a mosquito fleet?

Stick with a formula that works.

Don't mind me. Being silly helps me cope in times of stress/disappointment/disbelief/fiery rage :p

P.S. Formula that works: Wildcats + Ennis = Fun Times + Title ;)

Yes, Ennis was a beast in the NBL.

I saw him play 3 times in the flesh and it was truly a pleasure to see someone with so much athletic ability and swagger. I wish we could've kept him in the league.

You forgot Lisch.

What is it with you and the phrase "mosquito fleet"?

I was rather partial to midget brigade but moved onto mosquito fleet.

It's my opinion that the main issue with the 6ers this year was their size. Hopefully for the sanity of some of the posters here...Joey finds some decent bigs in the off season.

DJ and Hodgson aren't small.

Golden State won a championship last season by benching Andrew Bogut.

Size isn't everything.

Indeed.

Did you miss the opening 3 words of my statement...."It's my opinion".

Besides, Golden State have amazing shooters, can create their own shots and usually nail it from anywhere. Have you seen the 6ers numbers from beyond the arc this year? Either get bigger or get better shooters......OR BOTH!!

"Golden State won a championship last season by benching Andrew Bogut."

Because he stunk.

"But, regardless of his team's performance in the playoffs, Gleeson will be offered a second contract."

LOL "Hey Trev we will ignore the latest finals series performance no matter what."

great motivator.

For mine, this year's result is a litmus test for Gleeson. So far he has taken us to "equal first," not a bad result. If he can win a 2nd title, that's a pretty good rap for a coach, nomatter how good his squad.
Gleeson is also a Boomers' assistant.

Pretty sure a championship is motivation enough.

Championship plus your job on the line is more of a motivator than just a championship with a guarantee of multiple more years.

Can someone remind me who the Cats added and lost from last season? Daniels out, Prather in. Jawai, Kenny in. Was it Burdon there last year?

Reply #577988 | Report this post

Dazz

No. They had Drake U'U and Earnest Ross on the bench (till Ross did his Achilles and was replaced with LUKE Martin)

Luuuc

Nah, Burdon was the previous year.

In essence you could probably call it:
Daniels --> Prather
Ross --> Greenwood --> Jawai
U'u --> Kenny

I'm not sure what other teams may be looking, but regardless of the haters, Gleeson would be sought as a coach. They are ANTICIPATING a good end to the season, and PRE-EMPTING any approaches, but I assume that nothing has been signed yet.
If he were to drop his bundle in the finals, I reckon those "negotiations" might get a tad testy.

Please don't remind us of Luke Martin's stint as a Wildcat. I had nearly managed to block that out!!

Asst...same as woolpert, to shit for a top job. Sydney could have got him but they went with an unknown, Brisbane could offer him a job for next year but they haven't. He's a name now, nothing more.

Well Gleeson has now done what NO other coach has done before at the Cats.
You could argue that some were sacked before they got the chance, and nobody questions the strength of the squad he had. But at the end of the day, he still got it done.

I'm no big fan, but in 3 seasons he's won two rings and had one post-season trashed by injury.
