Lisch waiting on Australian citizenship

NBL most valuable player winner Kevin Lisch says he is awaiting word on whether his request for Australian citizenship will be approved.
But a future with the Boomers, or at the least a roster place as an Australian player, awaits Lisch if his citizenship request is approved - he has an Australian wife, two young children and has spent several years of his career in this country.
Full story

As the article says, the Hawks could obviously add two imports to this roster. If say Davidson retired and someone else moved to Brisbane (just guessing, but Martin and Coenraad are from there AFAIK), they'd have some money to add solid imports.

Who would he replace for the boomers?

Exum is probably unlikely. That means Gibson is the likely replacement.
So would he replace Gibson at pg or Goulding at sg?

Lisch > Gibson for sure. I also don't like Goulding on the national team, he is too much of a volume shooter

I wouldn't but those two names in the same sentence as Kev, interesting if perth try to get him back? Either way, one of my favorites glad to see him tearing up the league just hope he has a off night tonight.

The article seems to talk about 2017 a lot, but what about the Olympics this year? Could he be naturalised before then? I would take him before Gibson for sure.

Not even a contest really, if available for the Boomers this guy should be a lock!

Yep, he would come in ahead of Gibson. Would be a huge boost for the Boomers if he's in for Rio.

Hopefully...

Delly/exum
Mills/broekhoff/lisch
Ingles/Simmons
Motum/Anderson/bairstow
Bogut/baynes

Maybe ogilvy and cut bairstow.

Or, leave Bairstow if Exum is still injured, gives us size and still enough ball handling and shooting??

Bogut/Baynes
Andersen/Motum
Broekhoff/Newley
Ingles/Lisch
Mills/Delly

Probably Simmons and Goulding to round things out.

Probably a good team there, Paul.

As for Exum, NBA or not he has not shown me anything that makes him more than a fringe Boomer yet. He looks like a startled deer on the court and until he shows a little bit of maturity in his play I think he would be a liability - fit or not.

the kid never went to college...
Check out his summer league game when he came back. He showed much more aggression and got a lot bigger also. He will be great in time...

"Probably Simmons and Goulding to round things out."

Simmons won't make himself available. You can bet on it

Lisch would be an absolute lock if available.

Blows Gibson out of the water.

Better defender than Goulding.

His game will be suited to the international game.

We need a PG desperately here for the Tall Blacks. Why couldn't Lisch marry a Kiwi..we'd still give him citizenship even if he didn't live here :(

Perhaps in time. But the Boomers aren't a development team.

Illawarra only had 1 import this year. Wouldn't have thought they'd afford 2 imports, with the big 3 they have now, with only losing Forman and Martin.

Money wouldnt be an issue, could give the exact money Forman and Martin are on to 2 imports, they wouldnt necessarily be studs,

Not all imports need to be expensive studs

MACDUB, hopefully Cedric will get NZ citizenship soon. If he leads them to another title they should make him PM!

With Pledger, Vukona and Tai Webster off the bench. If Penney could play on that's world class.

Yes, I always thought Lisch should be the closest of anyone to Naturalisation.

But given they didn't have a 2nd import import this year, I don't think it follows that his naturalisation automatically brings in 1 or 2 more?
