NBL all star side in off season global push

http://m.theage.com.au/sport/basketball/nbl-looks-at-allstars-offseason-plan-in-bid-to-attract-nba-teams-20160226-gn53yy.html

Interesting to hear foreign clubs may eventually become part of the nbl

When they say "off-season" do they mean pre or post?
The issue is that most of our best players go looking for gigs elsewhere to earn a few bucks.

Maybe instead of chasing actual NBA teams, who have probably got minimal interest is sending their stars to Australia, maybe we should offer to host a tournament with some form their D-League. Introduce them to Australia, and maybe scout a bit of talent?

Notwithstanding the hug travel problem, I don't see China wanting to enter team in our NBL, given the growth of their own competition. Probably need to look at smaller countries closer to home.
