If I were the Taipans I'd want to save Loughton's legs for the remaining two years on his contract

Rockhampton have Auryn MacMillan, Shaun Gleeson and 2 imports

Townsville have Mirko Djeric and Harry Froling

Cairns have Damon Heuir, Trigger and Loughton plus all of their DPs

Logan have Mitch Young, Michael Cedar and an import

Sth West have Brendan Teys and Jarrod Bairstow

plus more good players that I'm forgetting... the QBL is a legit league!

What are the restrictions in the QBL?
Are those guys counted the same as imports?
IIRC in the SBL, its something like guys who average more than 10 minutes in the NBL are counted as restricted?

Personally, I think there should be more encouragement to utilise the mid-range NBL guys. It would not only keep the guys in touch, but might boost the attraction (& quality?) of the local league?

Shaun Gleeson is Trevor's nephew isn't he?

^^^^^^ Yes Shaun Gleeson is Trevor Gleeson's nephew...

Kid can play, just been riddled by injuries when competing in the NBL.

NBL players playing more than 10mins a game are counted as restricted players, so Damon Heuir isnt a restricted player but Loughton and Trigger are. There is also a points system in place with discounts for players who have played for that club as a junior or for more than 100 games.

You are allowed two restricted players in the QBL.

Still trying to work out if this is a good move for the Snakes or not (obviously a great move for the Marlins!)

Two older guys who've had their share of injuries in recent years, is it a bit risky?
Or a good move to keep in shape in the off-season and try and find a bit of touch that went missing this season?

Could go either way.

I'd think it's worth the risk, easier to replace an injured player than to deal with one getting into game shape.

I think it's a great move for Trig and Al, as well as the Marlins. It's been awhile between champagne cork poppings.

They both need a season off.
