Kayla Standish returns to Townsville Fire

The JCU Townsville Fire have re-signed former WNBA draftee Kayla Standish after a two-year absence from the club.

The 26-year-old, who played a key role in leading the Fire to successive Grand Finals in 2012/13 and 2013/14, spent last season playing for Adelaide, averaging 14.4 points and 5.5 rebounds as she ignited the Lighting as a mid-season recruit.

Looking to bolster the Fire's front court alongside championship winner Darcee Garbin and four-time WNBL MVP Suzy Batkovic, newly-appointed head coach Claudia Brassard had no hesitation in signing Standish for a second stint.
