How many promising juniors are lost to the sport?

Interesting article where it sounds like Christian petracca from the AFL talks about being a pretty high level junior player.

I wonder how many of these we lose to other sports or other walks of life due to the interior money or jobs available in the NBL. How do we make it more attractive to pursue an NBL career. If the three import rule the right one we might lose more young talent?

Ben Simmons will make more in his 1st season than he could have in his whole career in AFL. For the best players its no contest plus the potential to play in olympics.

What appeal does the olympics have these days? Apart from the glory of the 100m sprint or freestyle events, they're just another sports tournament.

PLENTY are lost. But probably because they knew their ceiling in basketball. If you read the above referenced article - I get the impression Petracca knew his ceiling.

100 metres is 109 yards
Let's times that 40 yard by 2.5 to make 100 yards (91 metres)
10.6 seconds
Usain Bolt regularly is under 10 seconds over the full 100 metres as are others.
Are you SURE most NFL players would beat him?
