Local Basketball Comp in Melbourne

Hi, I am from Perth and moving to Melbourne next weekend. I will be living in the docklands. I am looking to continue playing basketball over there. What are the good centres for weeknight or weekend social comps? And are they bascially teams with friends in there or proper clubs you can join. I wont know anyone in Melbourne initially. Any advice would be great

This is a South Australian basketball forum. There are a couple of readers from interstate who might be able to help you, but this might not be the best place to ask.

Heya Wil,

I'm in Melbourne and play at MSAC (Melbourne Sports & Aquatics Centre), which is at Albert Park so probably a good location from you.

Drop me a line [email protected]

Cheers, Adam (DJ)

Melbourne's a big place, MSAC as mentioned above is ideal if your in the city. If your not, be more specific on your location and I should be able to help.

Sorry Wil, just read your post properly. Your going to be at the Docklands, nice! MSAC is definitely your best bet although Sunshine Basketball Assoc. is probably closer, I would suggest the standard wouldn't be as good. As for freinds v. clubs I'm sure you will find a team at MSAC whatever standard you're looking for.

There is another social mixed basketball set up in St Kilda called Playfit. Its a social club so its all about having fun and getting a good workout. Email [email protected]

Its on Monday & Wednesday nights.

@Isaac - 'This is a South Australian basketball forum. There are a couple of readers from interstate who might be able to help you, but this might not be the best place to ask.'

I am truly shocked and hurt at this response. There are readers from all over the world on this forum. The days of it being S.A. centric I would have thought are well and truly over...

:]
