Can Sixers win away in 05/06?

The Sixers managed a league best 14-2 W/L at home last season but really struggled on the road (5-11).

Only three teams were able to break even with wins away last year (Sydney, Wollongong & Perth). Two played off for the GF.

It is reasonable to say you would have to win 50% away in 05/06 to make top two and automatic qualification to the semis (no knockout finals).

What do the Sixers do to improve their game away from the crowd friendly Dome? Upgrade to business class? Fly interstate a day early? See a sports psychiatrist? Send about 4,000 Sixers fans up to games on the train (all expenses paid)?

Losing a couple of close away games last year cost us an automatic place in the semis which would have stopped the Sixers being knocked out in one by a freak shooting performance.

What do the guys need to do? Is it all a mental thing?

So Sydney & Woolongong had a great away record. Well isn't that amazing? FFS, they've got away games at each other's venues (a bus fare away if they're lazy), walk to the Razor court & huddle in a Lear Jet to Newcastle. Pffft. Wouldn't Dr Who love to hire a time capsule like that? Give Perth some credit, every away game is at their disadvantage timeline wise.
Besides, the Sixer hierarchy were adamant that crowds would flow in once the Sixers established a winning home record, & that was after a 8-0 (I think it was 9-0, but I'll remain conservative).
Let's be a little objective guys.
Cheers, DDFan

Lear Jet to Newcastle? Newcastle is a 2 hour bus ride from the Kings training courts. However, the Kings DO use a private jet between Townsville and Cairns if the games are on the same weekend. ;)

DDFan,

I would have thought everyone is being objective.

The 'advantage' for Sydney teams can also be a disadvantage, as they don't get the same parochial crowds to their games. When you look at the home records of Sydney teams, they are not as good.

Home court advantage obviously means something, but how much?
