No, they are not even close to CoE.

And lots of spuds in your list of Australian Rep potential - you're either guessing or hopeful.

They are on the adc list because they are thought to have boomers or opals potential.

Pretty odd that they are already looking at 01/02 athletes. 15-16 year olds....
So many quality 99/00 overlooked.

Just fill ins who Downer happened to be friends with their state coach so know how to get hold of them. So, nothing at all in it and are not the new girls added to the COE.

The sa point guard from girls u16s and the boys vic centre from u16s.
Thought they were both overlooked.

Might be apart of the other camp late next year though.

The young girls currently playing in the wnbl who are 98/99/00 are very good too.

Those next under Aus 17 sides for both boys and girls will be absolute crackers.
The selectors will have an incredibly tough time choosing the squads.

You obviously didn't see the girls u16 nationals this year. Standard was very ordinary and can't see the next Sapphires coming close to the gold medal we won this year.

Which state? Probably no surprise, you're talking 2 years for juniors when a hell of a lot can change.

Reply #609449 | Report this post

They select a mix of potential positional players, hence why not all guards/forwards/bigs make selection, they take what they perceive as the best of the bunch......again it does come down a lot to personal preferences in many cases when two players of similar ability have to be reduced to one.

Two years is a long time in juniors when kids are developing all the time, many haven't even decided which sport to continue with, boys leave for football, girls netball, or find outside influences that are more attractive to them.

How many expected to be chosen mid year?

So ATM you got..
Cubillo 99
Shelley 00
Simmons 99
Simons 00
Rowe 99
Pizzey 99
Magbegor 99
Cochrane 00

Finito
Horvat 98 (ucla)
Mcspadden 99 (wnbl)

Leaving mid year?
Rocci 98 (college 2017?)
Aokuso 98 (college 2017?)

Possibly Adding?
Clarke 00
Bourne 00

+2 more

=
Cubillo/Shelley
Simmons/Simons/(?)
Rowe/Clarke
Pizzey/Bourne/(?)
Magbegor/Cochrane

God that is confusing.

Horvat & McSpadden have been replaced by Bourne & Clarke.

Rowe,Pizzey, Rocci all have to be out by mid year at the very least so min 3 spots open mid year.

There is a difference between opinions on junior players and just talking about public information about who is in a squad and who is not. Not very complicated to separate the two.

I think they should only take 00 players.
14-15 year olds going to Canberra doesn't seem right.

there are a bunch of 99 players that should be on the list but it looks asthough it's too late for them.

Not on the list but certainly quality players
