How did maric play in Europe for so long?

He is awful. Poor feet, poor hands. The only impressive thing he's done all year was putting wortho in a head lock. Kings more hype than substance

No.

The hype has been all the haters that ranted about our salary when were on a streak.

Haters be silent when we're back with the pack....

Don't think anyone expected him to be a star at this point of his career. He WAS. A stud hence he lasted as long as he did, this is the beginning of the swan swong. Same for Newley and Andersen etc we get what's left of the star power.

Newly has been awesome and when you see him play you realise how good the players in Europe must be. Then you see maric and realise they're not that good

I saw Maric against adelaide and he was awful, particularly down the stretch he made three or more boneheaded plays that essentially cost his team a chance at the game. To be honest, I have never been impressed at all by his game, for the boomers he has been more than underwhelming. I might be wrong but I am guessing he got to Europe and stayed there so long because he has a European passport and so therefore wouldn't have had to play as an import? Can anyone confirm whether or not this is the case?

Maric has a European passport, is 6'11 and has a really disciplined team-first approach. That's how he played in Europe for so long.

He had two really good years, both early in his career, but for the most part he kept getting signed because he would do the meat and potatoes stuff and be a great teammates, kind of like what he's doing in Sydney.

Maric spent the vast majority of his career in Europe as a 3rd center on terrible teams. So yeah, not sure what you were expecting from him. He had like 2 good years in his whole career in Europe, and just 1 season where he was even decent in EuroLeague.

His EuroLeague numbers for example:

2009-10: 14.6 points / 8.4 rebounds

2010-11: 3.5 points / 3.5 rebounds

2011-12: 3.6 points / 2.5 rebounds

2012-13: dropped down to 2nd tier level EuroCup - 11.4 points / 7.4 rebounds

2013-14: back to top tier level EuroLeague - 6.1 points / 3.6 rebounds

2014-15: 2.3 points / 2.3 rebounds

2015-16: dropped down to 2nd tier level EuroCup again -
6.0 points / 4.9 rebounds

Within the last few years of his career in Europe, he was a pure 3rd string center in EuroLeague, who then ended up being just a below average backup at 2nd tier EuroCup level.

And again, had just one good EuroLeague season in his whole career.
