Proving to NBL player is injured process

There been a recent spate of injury-replacments onto team's rosters of late. Do the clubs have to prove to the NBL e.g. via Medical certificates that there players are injured, or do there injuries have to be assessed by an NBL appointed Doctor to prove there players are injured. What is the process of proving a player is injured and needs to be replaced on the roster without salary-cap exemptions? As say a player is playing crap, clubs might pull the dodgy-back or dodgy-hamsring line.
