Anthony Petrie to miss rest of the season.
he Brisbane Bullets have suffered another injury blow with Anthony Petrie out for the remainder of the season.
With Cameron Bairstow already ruled out for the season with an ACL injury, Anthony Petrie will now also miss the remainder of 2016/17 with cartilage damage in his left knee requiring surgery.
Petrie will have surgery next week and details of the rehabilitation and recovery period will be known post-surgery.
The Bullets have had SEABL MVP Jeremy Kendle and former NZ Breaker Isaih Tueta join the squad at practice this week as options to provide additional guard coverage within the roster, however Kendle also succumbed to injury with a calf strain removing him from immediate consideration.
Local Brisbane product Tueta will make his Bullets debut against the Taipans, having played in two games against the Bullets in his time with the Breakers earlier in the season.
The Bullets will make further decisions on injury replacements following the Taipans game.
The injuries to the senior squad members means that some of the exciting young talent from the Bullets Development Squad will have the opportunity to prove they are ready for NBL action.
Jarred Bairstow maintains his position in the roster in older brother Cam's absence, while the Taipans game will see Tom Fullarton join his Australian Under 19’s captain Matt Kenyon in the Bullets line up. Fullarton was on the bench for the Bullets for the games against Perth and Sydney in Round 1 and has recently returned from his commitments at the Centre of Excellence program in Canberra.
