NBL All League 5 - The run home

What are everyone's thoughts at this stage? Some that would have been in contention have fallen away a little bit or got injured where others are having a great second half of the season and could be playing themselves into contention. The way I see it, the guard spots are sewn up by Randle and Ware. I'd have Prather comfortably as the 3 man with the 2 bigs kind of up for grabs at this point. DJ would have to be favourite to take the 5 spot. A super consistent season to go along with his team success. Kickert has had a great last 3-4 weeks and is starting to get the volume to go along with his efficiency. If that trend continues for the last few weeks of the season his name must be in the mix. Craig could go in the 4 spot. He stated like a house on fire, lulled for a couple of weeks but looks to getting the motor going again. I'll be honest that I haven't seen a lot of games this year so I am interested in what other members here think. Obviously I would expect you all to vote for players on your team with an absolute and unashamed by bias. That's what makes sport great!

I think the first team guard spots are lock in Randle and Ware. Sobey in the 2nd team, but nothing to be ashamed of.

Prather in as 3 and I would go DJ as 4 as I think he is a better 4 than 5. I think 5 is wide open.

Dillard has shone, but only played less than 33%. Ware is around 50%, but I think that needs to be the minimum.

I don't see how Ware could possibly make it, just hasn't played enough games.
The NBL formula is to pick three "outside" players and two "inside."

I'd suggest that Randle and Prather are locks for the first two outside roles, the other I'd suggest is a toss-up between Lisch and Penney.

DJ gets the first inside spot, the other is a bit tougher to pick. Maybe Kickett?

Where would you classify Craig this season? He's a 3/4 who lines up as the SF, but plays extremely well inside.

I think you can't go past Randle, Sobey & DJ.
Great form, their team wins & they make other players around them better.
Ware has been great, but hasn't played all the games & UTD still have lost a few games WITH him in the team.

I think Prather has earned the 3 spot just over Newley.

5 man is a tough one.. as a Hawks fan I'd actually put Nick Kay up there for a dark horse consideration (even though he plays mostly 4 for us) but honestly I think McKay has been the best/most consistent 5 man this season.

If it doesn't have to be a genuine 5 man, Torrey Craig gets the nod with DJ.

So- Randee, Sobey, Prather, Craig, DJ.

It could end up being

1st team - Randle, Sobey, DJ
MVP - Randle
MIP - Sobey
6th Man - Creek
COTY - Wright

And more importantly 2016/17 Champions Adelaide (early days but a possibility).

A huge clean up of the awards and well deserved.

None of the true centres have been that outstanding, so I think the best bet is going to be DJ at the 5, with a forward who can play big - probably Craig.

Randle is a lock for one of the guard spots. I think Prather is a leader for one of the others.

Rule out Ware, Dillard and Cotton for missing games. From the scoring leaders, that leaves: Penney, Newley, Goulding, Lisch, Clarke, Sobey - all between 16-17.5 PPG. Newley and Sobey have an edge going by RPG and APG. Sobey has the edge for W-L record.

The NBL formula is 3 outside players and 2 inside.
They don't pick based on traditional positions.
So there doesn't have to be a designated centre.
