finishing favourite good or bad?

well everyone - with junior finals around the corner - i wish raise the following for discussion -

is it good to be the favourite?

look at forestville and woodville in abl -

north and forestville were warm favourites pre game - although warriors had pushed the eagles during the season

woodville last year - red hot favourites and AWOL on game night.

many coaches without injuries prefer to play all the way through

anything is possible on game night!

do juniors motivate better as underdogs or as clear winners through the season?

Every dog has its day....

but as a rule, i don't think coaches should flirt with form - just keep on winning and scoring more points than the team you play against!

thanks pickles - personally i would have a form team than a name team anyday.

with kids i find the underdog "phoenix" style come from behind motivation / psychology does not exist.

being on top from the outset seems to get the junior in a positive mind set.
