Vic Metro won't even medal in the women's this year. Vic Country should though.

Agree Qld North go in as favourites in the men. I think Qld South are a great shot to medal and NSW Country shouldn't be written off. Not convinced WA Metro have the guards to keep up with those 3 and Vic Metro, so that's my top 4. Should be a great event, though. Probably 8 or 9 teams where games between them could go either way, and all it takes is 1 upset to create a bronze medal matchup in a quarter final crossover.

The bottom agers will be going for u16 Asian champ spots.

Yeah, wouldn't sleep on vic country womens. Although not a tall team, lots of firepower with Hurst, Shelley, Dangelo, Brasilis, Ogier, Nnopu etc

Theres nothing actually wrong with Vic Metro women. They remain favourites to anyone that didnt have child cut from the team or not from their association.

Hunter an interesting addition in that Tassie side but they're missing a big piece, too.

For the boys, some significant losses from both SA sides, NSW Metro and Vic Country since 2015. Does anyone know how many of these kids are playing in the US and how many have given up the game?

Massive hole in the Vic Metro women's team with Cochrane not being available. There is no way they can be considered gold medal favourites now.

Cochrane injured?

Who's running the point?
Thought Gould, LT, and lopes were primarily 2s.

Remember a few years ago Vic country women faced off against Vic metro women in the semis , and came out the victors, their were some talented players in both groups that year, Vic country eventually took the silver and Qld the gold in the grand final by a very close margin.

Weak u16?
They won and played well all tournament.
U18s is quite a leap. Very few bottom agers shine when they make the move up.

Looks like a lack of good shooters and quality bigs.
Some good ball handlers though.

Try and pick a quality squad from...
01
Pg Heal, Poa, Amoore, Sawyer, Levy
Sg Lopes, O'Neill, Vidmar, Lee
Sf Ogier, Deegan, Stratford, Dallinger
Pf Nnopu, Fowler, Hank, Hollingsworth
C Anstey, Jefferson, Hannan, Ayliffe

Obviously no 02 athletes until u16s.

My point is a very weak Vic Metro u 16 dominated at nationals last year.

So, not a lot to look forward to for the national team from that group.

Will any 02 players help, the cause?

I think once the team is selected and they are together for a while, we might see a lot of improvement.

Heal, Amoore, poa, Lopes and Palmer look to be the backcourt. Can't see who else would air there spot.
