BSA

What is the reason for BSA existsnce ?
Are they not the peak governing body, chartered with the task of supporting clubs, grass root associations & growing the sport in SA?

Why do they run so many competitions which compete with clubs etc ?
Social basketball
Camps

From what can be seen, they do everything they can to block other groups in the sport from making any money

Thoughts please?

While not a fan of bsa, you seemed to have answered your own question. Growing the sports by way of camps and grass root basketball is social in juniors before they make the commitment to district and social seniors who don't want to pay all the fees.
Clubs run their own camps and many have their own feeder social comps.
It's like federal government, no-one likes them but it's needed. Just wish both were run better.

Norwood Easter tourney will benefit from the disallowing of good Div 3 teams in reserve state championships after years and years of allowing them.
