U14 TI CAMP

Had the opportunity to see both the boys and girls U14's Basketball SA TI camps over the weekend.

There is some huge talent coming through and i am really impressed with how the High Performance coaches are running things.

The 16's State girls team in 2 years in particular looks very bloody promising with one of the most talented 12/13 year olds i have seen in a while running the point.

I am not naming a club nor a junior. Go out and watch state champs and you'll see it for yourself, so much talent but this girl is so athletic, so naturally skilled and looks like she can play 1 through 5, with structed specialised training with NITP etc her future looks very very bright.

Nationals as in will she play for SA Metro under 16's? or make a national squad for under 17's?

I think absolutely yes to both.

This group of girls is no where even close to last years 14s group and I am not sure who you are talking about but their no genuine stars in any of these teams... Weak age group compared to other years

A boy from norwood posted on social media that he is "quitting" basketball due to not being selected in the "allstar 5" for the camp....
this poor boy has not been taught the love of the game, just accolades and awards
If he does choose to leave the game that will be sad but the club, his parents and coaches need to look at themselves and ask what kind of image they are pushing on these kids, because a reaction like that is sad to see

Really sad to hear about the young lad who feels hard done by there and yes possibly evidence of parental let down there.

I understand the 14's group generally is pretty average from the bench div 1 and below kids, but there are some brilliant players and the one i am talking about is as athletic as they come and was watched very closely at Southern Cross.

Not trying to hype her up, just happy to see the talent and her versatility - i doubt she has a Youtube channel or an under armour deal in the wings.
