I think it was the Hawks who were reportedly interested in signing him late last season but the Wildcats wouldn't release him, understandably.

Yeh he played for the Hawks in last year's summer league and they offered him the 10 day contract earlier this year, but the wildcats didn't stop him. He had an NBA out clause in his contract but he wanted to stay to complete the season in Australia and chase a title given the nba contract was only 10 days.

Wildcats wouldn't release him becuase there was no window left to sign a replacement player before playoffs.

Anon, Cotton made the decision to stay. As anon said, he had an NBA out clause but chose not to exercise it as it was only a 10 day contract. If he had decided to accept the 10 day contact, the cats wouldn't have been able to stop him.

"He had an NBA out clause in his contract but he wanted to stay to complete the season in Australia and chase a title given the nba contract was only 10 days"

That type of information and logic doesn't wash here, please stop.

Marvin and Bendat overpowered Cotton and locked him in the Wildcats' special dungeon underneath Perth Arena for flight risk imports. That cell can only be opened by 2 conditions :

1/ when both the forementioned scanned their thumbprints on the reader at the same time.

2/ Cotton scores 44 points or more in one playoff game.

Cotton was a GREAT addition to the mighty wildcats and really showed his wonth as he TORCHED the league.

Could have left to take up an NBA 10-dayer but stayed because he loved the joint.

Good luck to this champion wherever he goes.

"Could have left to take up an NBA 10-dayer but stayed because he loved the joint."

it's kind of ironic that the reason he stayed is the same reason that a couple of previous perth imports had to leave
