Andrew Bogut doesn’t give a f—k

A great long-form piece on Andrew Bogut, including interviews with Bogut himself, Brian Goorjian, Ray Giacoletti, Luke Ridnour, Chris Anstey, Luc Longley, Aleks Maric and Andrej Lemanis.

Must read.

The article is way too lenient on Bogut's stupidity. He might not "give a f**K" but I'd say thats because he is ignorant to a lot of things he opens his mouth about.

is it a prerequisite for those extra tall players to struggle with intelligence?...or is it just Bogut and Cambage that have mastered it to a fine art

"To many, he's an opinionated prick who won’t shut up. To others, he’s the refreshing athlete who speaks his mind, refusing to kowtow to prescribed norms and institutionalised speak."

I appreciate his candour. I just wish he wasn't so dumb.

Truth is he is dumb. but he is too dumb to realise it. ignorance is bliss. and also acts really gruff, hate his demeanour.

I don't think he's dumb, but I do think his opinion tends to outrun his thinking of a matter.

A dumb wogan/bogan who thinks he is smart because he's a highly paid athlete.

I'd guess he's smarter than average, but he seems to have some level of (personal) survivorship bias influencing his opinions. I think this is also a strong factor influencing someone like Clive Palmer - in his case, I don't think it makes him particularly useful in politics.

I remember reading an ESPN article earlier this season when Bogut was still in Dallas and it mentioned that privately in NBA circles he's supposedly one of the most disliked players in the league as a lot of the black players feel he has racist views.

I don't think you have to be black to dislike him.

I'm white Australian and loath him. Everything about the way he behaves is boorish and gruff. So unlikeable.
