The Next Gen of Boomers

http://www.nbl.com.au/featured-news/nbl-young-guns-named-emerging-boomers-team/

Looks a pretty talented young side!

Having followed a few of these lads' careers & having the pleasure of coaching, coaching against & playing against a couple I really like the look of this team and especially our young NBL talent.

Bring on the NBL season already! : )

No Landale is interesting.
Harrison still so very young, usually they take players late in there studies.

No Landale. No Adel. No Moneke (currently in Canberra). No
Lual-Acuil Jr.

We may never know if they were unavailable or just not selected.

As Shane Heal said in commentary, Moller looks a lot bigger than 6ft 8, closer to 6ft 10. Cooks and Moller both can play 3 or the 4. Very little preparation for the tournament so better keep expectations down. Naar and Moller played together previously I believe.

So are the University Games finally being taken more seriously by Aus? This is what I take away from this...

How is this a serious team if the best available are not there?

Maybe 2 potential boomers out of the whole emerging bunch.

Moller only been back playing for 18 months, but has the athleticism, game style for NBA, who knows what level he could go to. I'm liking this kids journey, will be good to see him play under Vickerman.

Compared to previous squads sent it is I believe?

Obviously there are always availability issues as it isn't a prestigous event for most, especially the NCAAers.

Yeah Moller is sick.

If Moller is really 6'10, he's exactly what the NBA want as a combo forward.

Gaze is supposedly 6'7 and he definitely looks at least 2 inches taller standing side by side.

More Importantly..
Whats Moller s wing span?

Moller's wingspan is 7'+ & he's legit 6'10".
I reckon he'll prove by seasons end to be better than Ferguson was this year, so if he's a lottery pick, who knows with the big dreadlocked one...

Naar & Moller played plenty of ball against each other in Sutherland vs Norths rivalries in juniors, then together for Sydney Boys High in Years 9-12.

I like Naar. Smart. Great game sense & a winner!

Naar s iq is off the charts but he lacks size, athleticism and sometimes has a shaky handle. I wonder if he will be off the ball again this year with rahon gone.

I've already got Moller in my Boomers team for 2019/2020.

Will be interesting to see what Wmw can do this year.

I'd back Adnam to be the starting PG.

I'd back DJ to start ahead of Krebs.

Will White is not in University or College, so I think that would preclude him?

Harry Froling is recovering from a foot injury.

Don't know if these games do a lot for the individual profile of the participants, unlike the U17 & U19 FIBA World Championships. Read as, not a lot to gain. So maybe that is why some are not playing. Of course, for a number of reasons, some may have elected not to make themselves available.

Thought I would mention that the U19 Tall Blacks narrowly lost to the U23 Lithuanian team in China this week (this will be the WUG team). I find it highly unlikely that the Australain WUG team could compete with this with so little preparation (three warm up games before the tournament only v a team already in full swing). Will be an uphill battle to make it out of the group with Lithuania, Russia (2013 champs), Ukraine and Israel battling for only two spots to advance. You have been warned.

The Aus uni games team would destroy nz u19s.

Nz aren't very deep at 1-2-3.
I think nz will get to 1/4s at World Cup though.

Sorry if my point was mistaken, simply that the Lithuanian U23 team will improve a lot and be at peak form for the WUG, making us extreme underdogs. Yes, I am aware of the gulf in class and more importantly experience between Oz WUG team and NZ U19s.

Definitely some interesting players in that group. To show how good the competition was, they finished what 10th or around there? I realistically expect a similar result here because these teams tend to get shortchanged for preparation.

His brother lost motivation to play after marrying into a rich family.
