NBA and BA open NBA Global Academy in Canberra

From Basketball Australia's press release:

NBA AND BA OFFICIALLY OPEN NBA GLOBAL ACADEMY FOR TOP PROSPECTS FROM OUTSIDE THE U.S.

MELBOURNE AND NEW YORK, June 23, 2017 - The National Basketball Association (NBA) and Basketball Australia (BA) today announced the official opening of NBA Global Academy, an elite basketball training center at BA's Centre of Excellence at the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra.

NBA Global Academy will serve as the NBA’s hub for top male and female prospects from outside the United States.

As part of today’s announcement, the NBA and BA also announced that the first-ever NBA Academy Games will begin tomorrow and run through June 30 at NBA Global Academy.

The series of exhibition games will include prospects from NBA Global Academy, NBA Academies in Africa, China and India, along with a team from BA’s Centre of Excellence and local Australian youth teams.

"Basketball Australia is delighted to partner in this venture, which will enable our world-class coaches and athletes to share their knowledge with the NBA," said Basketball Australia Chief Executive Officer, Anthony Moore.

NBA part is good, BA not, bt NBA are organised and should make up for BA incompetence.

Makes you wonder why NBL doesn't have a presence at the AIS.

Because the NBL are a private company and not the Peak Body

You would hope it opens up some doors and gives kids that are passed over by the CoE coaches an opportunity to show their talent. If is solely limited to those at the CoE then it's a waste!

This won't escalate bringing the cannons back to Canberra will it?

It sounds good, then again having NBA money to help us sounds an enormous benefit for our region

So is it a separate program to the CoE? Will the athletes live at the AIS or fly in fly out??
It's definitely a good thing if it gives more kids an opportunity
