this was a big move for the spurs. After miami made so many moves offseason, the spurs needed this to stay in touch. should be an interesting season

It seems my NBA News was off the Mark... With the spurs being out of the race with the signing of Van exel its been a great week for the spurs ... and would have to be Favourites again ... Miami have the squad on paper ... but there is still alot of question marks over them..

I did mention that in a follow up to your Nba news truth.
There was no cost into what Finley would get paid by signing Van Exel, It was always going to come down to where he would fit in.
Think of this, Double Team Duncan and the pass goes out to, Manu, Parker, Barry, Horry, Finley, Robinson or Bowen on the Baseline,

If Shaq can be contained just a little and Parker and Bowen, Van Exel do a little bit on Wade what will miami do.

Miami also have Antoinne Walker who can score at will, but I still think Spurs will take the title
I disagree with Bill Walton. He feels that the championship will go to the spurs no doubt. However I believe getting Finley will have a detrimental effect. They have an awesome balance as it is and now with finley it messes it up.
What do the spurs do, do they get bowen to come off the bench? He wont be as effective then!
I think it is debatable who is a better 3 point shooter but I would say Bowen is more consistent. Also Bowen is a better defender. As a result he is a much better fit then Finley. So how do you Split their minutes up when they both average around 30+ minutes a game? Thats going to cause trouble.
I would think a much better fit would have been a power forward/ Center that is half Decent. Having a team with 2/3 main stars surrounded by efficient role players has been the right mix to win a championship during the last decade (Bulls, Spurs, Lakers).

Simple game Anon,
Hit your shots from Duncans Double Team, rebound or sit on the sideline and watch the next guy that comes in for you do it.
Too much firepower can only hurt unselfish teams.
Popovich does not settle for unselfishness and Finley at 32 years old wants a ring to brag about not a scoring average.
Money or court time is not the issue here because Dallas is still paying the rent for a few years and court time if he wanted it would have landed him in Minnesota / ( Money would have been Miami.

Tuff to know if finley will gel with the spurs just have to wait and see how he gose ... I personally think finley best fit was at Phoniex but he wants a Serious championship contending team and he has Defenitley got that
