Breakers vs 36ers, Dec 15

Although we just beat NZ without Mitch Creek you would have to favour the Breakers at home in this one.

NZ by 8.

I'm sick of these coaches who make subs just for the sake of it. Adelaide up double figures and he takes johnson off after 6 minutes. They then lose the lead, does he really get tired after 6 minutes and hitting 11 points?

similar thing with Tokoto last week from memory vs Adelaide. Had 8 first quarter points and Wildcats were up 10 or so, but then took him off for the last couple of minutes of the quarter (fair enough), but then left him on the bench at start of the 2nd leading to a bit of an Adelaide comeback.

For a 40min game a lot of coaches seem to over coach by going too deep with their bench, and/or over coach by subbing too frequently and not giving good players enough minutes imo.

I know Sobey isn't exactly catching fire but why is he only playing 8 mins @ the half when someone link Teys is getting 7?

Cannot just rely on 2 players. Chill and Sobes needs to fire.

Joey MUST create some plays for 3 point shots with rebounders on the move.

NZ are giving us an open offer from outside knowing that if they keep their zone in behind the line we will constantly drive into congestion and take the hardest possible shots.

Sixers are probably the best team at run and carry and attacking the paint. BUT, while they are so totally predictable they are going to always be doing it the hard way against the top teams.

Why Joey don't you spend some time with your outside shooters and encourage them to spend a little more time gaining confidence to shoot when teams disrespectfully continue to offer us the 3 point shots.

What the F is Casey Frank on about with DJ scoring with 11 seconds left.

If Mika is going to guard DJ closely, DJ is going to assume its game on.

The sour taste in their mouths should be because of the sh!t D (as highlighted by Henare).

Doesn't points for and against count in head-to-head, therefore you want to beat teams by as much as possible?

It's not the NBA...

Childress at the 4 is the key .... his roaming D and disruptive hedging creates so much for us to run the other way .

Again we are so much better when DJ and Hodgson are staggered in usage .

Moore needs more minutes as he is just so smooth .

HUGE win and hopefully a season defining one .

In a game thats 90 to 75, that extra couple of points ups your % for that game by by around 3%. Over the season that couple of points isn't a huge difference in your total for/against %, but if you score a couple of points late each game it all adds up and could be the difference between playoffs at the end of the year. I have no problem with teams playing until the buzzer.

NZ had all the luck and the refs put the wistle away for most of the night and still got done by a landslide. Two 3 point attemps bounced up and back in to make their score more palatable. They were top of the ladder?! They get looked after at home that's why.

No cheap shots only applies with head to head competitions. The NBL wants to be the AFL so percentage counts, therefore play the 40 minutes through and through.

One of the refs was atrocious bad. The other two okay

Henare coaching not the best. Pledger sat th fourth but the 36er has no answer to him. All while breakers played small ball, for example shea ill guarded Moore who had his way

Sosa can't get to the rack.

Ambercrombie. Hello. Where are you

How they recover determines their season. I'm predicting the slump to last a little longer but they should manage to keep their head above water and finish 15-13 or maybe 16-12

That last quarter defence by sixers was fantastic, one of best efforts I've seen in a long time, breakers looked totally confused at times. Childress was as big a factor on defence as a couple of others were on offence there. And the offence absolutely crushed that 1-3-1 zone. Great job by Joey keeping them focused and a few well executed plays.
Henare did a poor job in my opinion, needed a timeout way before he called it. Defence needed to change and a few subs to try and fix things, all well and good to try and play through it but waiting till only two minutes to go it looked like he was just as shell shocked as the crowd.

Great comeback win by Sixers with great coaching by Joey as shown with his cool calculated timeout when well down in third and juggling of players etc to get defence right.
Moore is lighting up with extra time due to Creeks injury and shooters poor form, he is so hard to defend when sees opportunity to attack basket.
Shorter going from bad to worse and even that shot doesn't gloss how he is playing and we thrived when he was not on court.
No they wont replace him but a quality PG would have us as favourites to go all the way especially with the injuries.
Hodgson has been a huge let down and the dumbest NBL player and losing confidence week by week.

Moore just schooled Shea Ili. Very worrying signs for Breakers. Abercrombie played 29 minutes for 2 points, 5 reb and 1 assist.
Sosa was mentally destroyed by Sobey. Breakers played their best when he was out most of the 2nd quarter with foul trouble. Second half he played 1 on 5. When he drove and fell down and conjured up an assist through Deng's legs.... HE DID NOT HAVE A SHOT.
He is great when things are going well, but he has been exposed by Sobey and Adelaide in tight contests.
Maybe our bubble has burst. We have gone from pack leader to one of the pack now. And everyone i.e. opponents know.

Can't believe Breakers ended up losing by so much. That game should have gone down to the wire. Sosa and Newbill just gave up stupid turnovers. Can't believe it.
Moore is a dangerous proposition as you need to guard the key to stop his penetration which leaves backdoor open for Sobey/Childress.
